Daniel Richert is a Master of Science student in the Human Computer Interaction/Design program at Indiana University, Bloomington. He is an IT professional in software development for about 20 years. During this time he progressed from a programmer analyst, to manager, to executive and consulting. His work has been in a software design environment. What interests him the most in this program is learning about the design process from a new perceptive.
Having reflected on his experience he has come to the realization that human centered design is what he has focused on and enjoys. Balancing the needs of the stakeholders is always the challenge in the design process. Design needs to be done with input from the community to produce a better-balanced product. This approach to design is a process-challenge for an organization, but produces a higher quality product with higher acceptance.
